Dr. Stephen Denton
DVM, CERPv

Dr. Stephen P. Denton is the owner of Abingdon Equine Veterinary Services in Abingdon, Virginia. It was founded in 1998 but he has been in practice in Abingdon since 1993. Abingdon Equine is an equine ambulatory veterinary practice covering Southwest Virginia, East Tennessee, Watauga County and surrounding areas of North Carolina, and Aiken, South Carolina.Dr. Denton of Abingdon Equine Vet

The practice offers Equine medicine, surgery, reproduction, dentistry, lameness and sports medicine, regenerative medicine, and prepurchase examinations. We offer the latest technology in Digital radiography, ultrasound, PRP, IRAP, Stem Cell therapy, and Mesotherapy. 

Dr. Denton is a 1992 graduate of the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship at the Ontario Veterinary College in Ontario, Canada in 1993. Since then Dr. Denton has completed numerous hours of continuing education in Equine Practice especially in the areas of lameness evaluation, sports medicine, and rehabilitation of sport horses. He continues to develop his skills in the area of lameness and sports medicine. He is an active member of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP) , American Association of Equine Practitioners(AAEP), and the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners(FAEP). These organizations provided the latest and most current education in equine veterinary medicine, surgery, and lameness. Dr. Denton has also been on the Board of the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners and has been nominated by his peers to the 2011 addition of Virginia Living Magazine "Virginia's Top Veterinarians". 

The goal of Dr. Denton is to provide the best possible care to his clients horses by keeping up to date with the latest technology and knowledge in the field of equine veterinary practice.

Dr Denton is certified in Equine Rehabilitation and Performance Medicine.

 

Dr. Jenna Moore

dr jenna mooreDr. Moore earned her DVM from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She continued her studies at Virginia Tech for an additional 3 years, researching Equine Malignant Melanoma with the Center for Comparative Oncology, and completing her PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences in 2013. Dr. Moore interned at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center from 2013-2014. Her areas of interest include oncology, dentistry, and preventative care. She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners (AASRP), the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners (VAEP), and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA).

Dr. Moore grew up in York, Pennsylvania, where she was active in 4-H and rode hunt seat and dressage. She moved to Virginia in 2002 to attend Bridgewater College and was a member of the Equestrian Club and Team from 2002-2006. She now lives in Marion, Virginia with her husband, 2 children, and menagerie of animals. She is the volunteer leader for the Smyth County 4-H Horse Club and coaches the Smyth County Questrians 4-H Hippology and Horse Judging Teams. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, gardening, raising myotonic goats, and riding her horses.
